So this is a really great DIY because it is fairly cheap and and really easy. In total, these cost two dollars. I already had paint and extra toilet paper rolls sitting around. With this project, you can use any paint colors, use any pattern with your hole punch and use as many TP rolls as you’d like!
What you’ll need:
- Clean toilet paper rolls
- Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Hole punch
- Battery operated candles
- Scissors
Step one:
Decide if you want any of your toilet paper candle holders to be different heights. I cut one TP roll to end up with two smaller pieces. You can use your scissors to adjust the heights you’d like.
Step two:
Always lay your scrap paper down before painting to protect your work surface. This is where you’ll pick out the colors that would make you the happiest! I chose three berry-type colors. Paint your toilet paper tubes and allow them plenty of time to dry. Usually acrylic paint doesn’t take too long to dry all the way. A few hours or so.
Step three:
This part is super fun! Most of us have a hole punch sitting around. If you don’t, you can usually find them pretty easily at the store. Punch plenty of holes in your toilet paper tubes. These holes will look super pretty when they’re lit up!
Step four: Finishing up your recycled toilet paper roll candle holders
Get your battery operated candles and turn them on. Never ever use real candles with toilet paper rolls. After you’ve turned the little lights on, put the TP tubes on top of them. Look how pretty!
Turn the lights down and look how great you did!
