Things you’ll need for your DIY Holiday Wreaths for kids:

  • Tissue paper in red and green (or any color you’d like)
  • A sheet of sturdy paper for your wreath base. I chose green because it would work well with the green tissue paper I chose to use.
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • String and a hole punch

Step one: How Big is The DIY Holiday Wreath Going to be??

Cut out the base for your wreath. This one is about six inches across. You could definitely make your wreath bigger or smaller, but if you make it bigger, keep in mind, you’ll need more tissue paper as well. Then also carefully cut out the center of your wreath base.

Step two: Let Out Some Holiday Aggression

Start tearing your tissue paper into pieces about two inches across, and crinkle them up into little tissue paper balls. You don’t have to scrunch them too hard. Or do. If you’re feeling stressed, it might help. This will take a little while. My daughter loved this part a lot!

Step three: Making Your DIY Holiday Wreaths for Kids

Before we started gluing, I made a hole with the hole punch and tied our nice string through there so we could hang it later. Now we start the glue! You’ll need plenty. As you go, lay down your green tissue paper balls and every now and then, a red tissue paper ball.

Your wreath is coming together! You may have to stop and make more tissue paper balls, because it’s easy to underestimate how many you’ll need.

Step four is the hard part. Waiting for that glue to dry so you can hang up your DIY Holiday Wreaths Kids and Toddlers!
