What you’ll need for your No Mess squish Painting for kids:

Step one: Putting it Together
Put your white paper flat inside the gallon size bag. Make sure it’s short enough to fit all the way in and you’re able to close the bag. If your paper is too long, you can cut an inch or so off of the end.
Step two: Adding the Paints
Pick out two to four paint colors! It’s the middle of winter here, but little babe and I are ready for summer, so we chose summer colors. It’s best to choose complimentary colors for this project. This helps to keep your paints from mixing and turning brown inside the bag. complimentary colors could include blues, greens, yellows or reds, oranges and yellows. Colors that are similar.
Hold the bag open and drizzle in the first paint color, and try to get it all around.
Drizzle the second and third colors too!
Step three: Secure Your Child’s Art Space
Zip your gallon size bag closed. Make sure there are no openings! Lay the bag flat at where your little one will sit at the table. Here we’ll use our masking tape to tape down each edge of the bag. This makes it so the bag doesn’t move and makes it more so that the bag can’t be broken at the edges as well.
Step four: Let the Squishing Begin!
Let your young one squish the paint all over! This No Mess Painting for kids project is also good for sensory excitement with the mushy paint. Allow them to mix the colors. Here you could even talk about what colors you’ve used. Are they primary or secondary colors? When mixed, do they make new colors?

When everyone is done, peel up the tape. Carefully open the bag and separate the plastic from the painted paper and take the paper out of the bag. Allow those little beauties to dry!
