Geometric Art Painting

What you’ll need for your Geometric Art Painting:

Step one: Choosing a background color

Choose what color and size paper you’d like to use for your background. Bigger backgrounds will take more time to complete, but can be made more intricate. Smaller backgrounds might be a better option for littler artists. After you’ve decided on that, be sure to set down scrap paper between your project and work surface to avoid any extra mess.

Step two: What paint colors will you use??

Use paint colors that you love! Put a little of each color on to your plate and add a cotton swab to each paint puddle. To start, pick a color, and one line at a time, add your colorful dots. All you need to do is gently press the end of the cotton swab to the paper. You might need to go over the dots with your paint twice to make them show up real well. Think of it as a “second coat”. Keep going to the next line, and the next and change colors as you’d need to.

Geometric patterns are really fun to do with this project, but you can do anything you want! Anything like fish underwater or flowers or a landscape would be really interesting to see. A basic striped pattern will come out beautifully as well!

Step three: The hardest part!

The most difficult part of any project is waiting for it to dry! Give your painting some time to sit on its own to dry and after a while, hang that lovely thing up! You could even frame it!
